I’ve always wanted to see what one of those giant Asian hornets looked like up close, but all I was able to find on the internet was a “tiger wasp”.
I’m not sure if it’s the exact same family, but it’s a close enough analog size-wise to give you goosebumps when you hold it.
it’s encased in some kind of lightweight Lucite, and you can study it really close up and see it’s huge jaws and piercing eyes with astonishing clarity.
It’s just awesomely horrifying.

I saw this post last night before bed, and then I had a dream about a huge hornet that was loose in my apartment! In this dream I kept saying, “Oooooh noooooooooo. Ooooooohhhh fuuuuuuuuck.” over and over again, but not in a terrified sort of way, more like… I dunno… Cheech from Cheech & Chong when he gets really high in their movies. lol.
HAHAHA. That is so awesome.
I once had a waking dream hallucination where I thought a HUGE dragonfly was swooping at my head and I kept sying “oh fuck! Oh fuck!” and hyperventilating, swatting at the air, and scaring the piss out of Hunter, who eventually succeeded in fully waking me up. But yeah- it was just like yours- except I was actually sitting up in bed swatting the air. Strangest thing ever.
Those Japanese/ asian hornest scare the piss out of me. Have you ever seen them in action?
